
Ever wanted to learn how to repair your own videotapes? Want to have a keener eye to spot mold or sticky shed syndrome. Welcome to collectors, enthusiasts, and archivists alike for Videotape Repair Workshop! This is a very hands-on opportunity to learn the skills you’ve always wanted to keep your tapes alive and running.
In this workshop you’ll learn how to:
- Identify major forms of decay including mold and sticky shed syndrome.
- Learn how to disassemble and reassemble a VHS tape
- Learn how to splice VHS
- Use a mold cleaner
- Discover the process of baking (dehydrating) videotapes for sticky shed
