MASSIVE CONTENT WARNING!
Obsession with violence and death has always been the American way. From the founding of our country to the media glorifying intense acts of violence. Is this something we generally enjoy or something that has been programmed into our culture so we are numb when those in power decide to change things by violent means?
Originally released in 1981 in Japan under the name “Violence USA”, THE KILLING OF AMERICA” is a documentary that uses actual footage of death and violence to provide a gruesome commentary on our nations decline, obsession with guns, violence, and political assassinations during the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Written by Leonard Schrader and narrated by the iconic voice of Chuck Riley, The Killing of America is an unabashed look in the mirror at what it truly means to be an American.
DISCLAIMER: This documentary is full of footage of real death and real violence collected from news and archival sources.
