TED & VENUS (1991), pres. by Hollywood Entertainment & 7th House

Hollywood Entertainment and Philosophical Research Society's 7th House are honored to present the inimitable Bud Cort’s sole feature as director, co-writer, and star: Ted & Venus. With an introduction by Bridey Elliott!

Dedicated with love to the memories of his Harold and Maude collaborators Ruth Gordon, Hal Ashby, and Colin Higgins, Ted & Venus is a subversive spiritual sequel and a hilariously strange Venice Beach love (and obsession) letter set to the music of Swamp Dogg.

A demented twist on the romcom, the film reframes cinema’s lovestruck obsessives for what many of them are: deluded stalkers. When Ted (a poet, played by Cort) falls for his social worker, Linda (Kim Adams), he pursues her relentlessly…

With an ethereal cast including Carol Kane, Gena Rowlands, James Brolin, Rhea Perlman, Woody Harrelson, Andrea Martin, Cassandra Peterson, Dr. Timothy Leary, + more!

Ted and Venus will be preceded by Bridey Elliott’s short film Affections (2016) co-starring Bud Cort.
