1987 was a great year for movie (just one) because that is the year of this movie Beyond The Seventh Door. Forget about the first sixth doors, hell, throw out the seventh because we are going BEYOND all logic centres. Star Lazar Rockwood has been compared to Tommy Wiseau but there's no one quite like Lazar, you will be completely transfixed by Lazar's unique approach to acting and line delivery -and his curiously Eastern European looks. Plus he's wearing a Canadian tuxedo, ie. double denim!
What's it about? One last heist! Who lives? Who dies? Who shits? Who eats? Will Boris (Lazar Rockwood) and Wendy (Bonnie Beck, props to her gusto) be able to escape each unique puzzle room of death? Will the sexual tension feel unnatural and forced? Was the later Canadian movie Cube taking notes? Cube was never filmed in a basement warehouse and we, the audience, get bargains in this basement. Did I say "filmed"? oops! It's SOV (September) making us feel like we are right there with them! Is this action, thriller, or horror? Find out! Do not watch alone, but you can come alone -or whatever- and watch it with all of us at Whammy. Best seen with a crowd. If Boris had a tattoo it would read "NO REGERTS." (Robert Dayton)

Canada bursts into Los Angeles for Uh Oh, Canadia!, a series focused on screening the more peculiar pockets of Canadian culture programmed by Robert Dayton, an actual Canadian (how exotic). You don't have to be Canadian to enjoy this, treat Canada as the weird, parallel universe that it is. Explore Canada through movies. You'll love it.
